Why Should I Use Handmade Soap?  Handmade soap is a wonderful treat for your skin!  Gone are the days getting out of the bathtub or shower with your skin feeling tight and dry, screaming for lotion.  Now your skin will feel luscious and moisturized, ready to face the day without that bottle of lotion. Handmade soap is a great value be-cause it lasts much longer than the de-tergent bars you find at the grocery store. Simply store your soap in a cool, dark location until you’re ready to use it.  Then, make sure you use a soap dish that drains so your handmade soap isn’t sit-ting in water.  You'll be amazed at how long your soap will last!Most commercial soap bars are ac-tually synthetic detergents. We use nothing but the finest ingredients in our natural home made soap with ab-solutely no animal products of course!  Our all natural soaps contain pure veg-etable based oils such as coconut, palm, olive and sweet almond oil. The addition of botanicals and essential oils make up a wide variety of soaps, each one ca-tering to different tastes and some-times used for certain skin conditions.

 

Is Your Soap Made With Lye?  Yes, all true soap is made with lye; it is the chemical reaction between the oil and lye that creates soap. The process in which the mixture becomes soap is called saponification. After the saponi-fication process soap is complete….the lye is gone. It is not present in the soap anymore.

 

Why is Your Handmade Soap Better than Other Soap?  Did you know that most of the "soap" you find in the grocery store really isn't even soap?  These bars are full of chem-icals and harsh ingredients.  At Honeywood farm we believe that soap should be good for your skin!  We develop all our handmade soap recipes from scratch, focusing on creating soap that pampers dry, sensitive skin and makes rich, thick lather.  Because we make our soap great for dry, sensitive skin, it's wonderful for all skin types!

 

How do you make the soap?  We have a lot of fun making our nat-ural homemade soaps, but we take our soap making very seriously. The entire soapmaking process, from making the soap, pouring it into the molds, cutting, wrapping, and labeling is done by hand. Each bar is unique, has it's own char-acter and appeal. No two bars are the same!We use a soap making process known as “cold process” soap making or “cp soap”.It takes nearly a month to craft a bar of soap. Each bar is handmade in small batches. Our special blend of natural ingredients is gently saponified -turned into soap. When ready, it is poured into molds to set. The soap is wire cut and cured for almost a month before pack-ing. Only this handcrafted process will yield a bar suitable for most sensitive skin.
